Our client is a boutique client-side project and construction management consultancy providing independent and professional services for property, construction and infrastructure projects.
They are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join their creative and client focused team in Sydney.
As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a large-scale new build commercial/life science project.
Having experience running jobs through the full 360 project life cycle is ideal.
Ideal candidates will have experience on both the head contractor and consultancy/client side, but this is not mandatory.
The candidate will likely be taking the project through detailed design, supporting value engineering, tender documents, advising and appointing consultants and head contractor, project management and superintendent work on the project in delivery phase.
Candidates will need to have new build or extensions experience on projects in sectors such as commercial medium to high rise, health, pharma, labs, research, life sciences etc.
The company places a high value on stakeholder management, verbal and written communication, client-facing interactions, a strong technical knowledge base, design, and the ability to administer contracts along with a "can do" attitude.
Responsibilities
Client management and consultation
Projectplanning/feasibilitystudies
Design management and value engineering
Procurement of construction services
Delivery of construction services
Cost control and cost reporting and superintendent




Commissioning and post-contract duties for handover
Oversight and delivery of the project
Demonstrated experience working in projects involving physical containment laboratories or cGMP grade zones
Demonstrated experience managing commercial base build projects
Demonstrated experience managing teams of consultants, contractors and sub contractors
Demonstrated experience managing CC, OC and post approvals associated with the conditions of consent
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 5 - 15 years+ managing commercial medium to high rise / life science projects
Proven knowledge of contract administration and base build construction
Experience managing general conditions of contract such as AS****
Sound understanding of overall construction programmes and plans
Able to identify key client and builder obligations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build rapport at all levels
Advanced computer literacy
Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
