Apprentice Forklift / Mobile Plant Technician

About the Role

n

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Forklift Technician to join our workshop team. This is a full-time, four-year apprenticeship where you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, such as a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology. Working alongside fully qualified field and workshop technicians, you will learn to service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of material handling equipment, including electric, LPG, and diesel forklifts.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with routine servicing and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment.
n
Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
n
Conduct repairs and component overhauls under the supervision of qualified technicians.
n
Complete TAFE blocks and logbook requirements diligently.
n
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop setting.
n
Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures.
n

Skills and Experience

n

n
Genuine passion for mechanical work, electronics, and problem-solving.
n
Completion of Year 11 or 12 (completion of a pre-apprenticeship course is highly regarded but not mandatory).
n
Mechanical aptitude or hands-on hobbies (e.g., working on cars, bikes, or machinery).
n
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior team members.
n
Reliable work ethic with excellent punctuality.
n
Current driver's licence, or progress towards obtaining one.
n
Earn while you learn with fully funded TAFE training and paid study time.
n
Clean, contemporary workshop equipped with specialized diagnostic tools.
n
Structured mentoring from experienced, trade-qualified professionals.
n
Explicit career progression paths into field service or specialized technical roles upon completion.
n
Supplied uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).
