Trainer Assessor & Workplace Health and Safety Advisor
This is a unique dual-focus position for someone who thrives on variety.
You'll split your time between delivering high-quality training and assessment to learners, and providing practical, hands-on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) advice and support across the business.
It's an ideal role for a safety professional who also loves to teach, or an experienced trainer looking to deepen their WHS specialisation.
Key responsibilities
Develop & deliver engaging training across the business and contractors
Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments in line with Standards
Develop and review training materials, assessment tools and learner resources
Provide constructive feedback and support to learners, including those requiring additional assistance
Maintain accurate training and assessment records in line with compliance requirements
Provide day-to-day WHS advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and staff
Support the development, implementation and review of WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices
Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification
Investigate incidents, near misses and hazards, and recommend corrective actions
Assist with WHS training needs analysis and deliver toolbox talks/inductions
Support compliance with relevant WHS legislation,
codes of practice and Australian Standards
Contribute to a positive safety culture across the organisation
About you
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent) — essential
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent experience) — essential
Proven experience in a training/assessment role
Solid working knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and industry best practice
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage learners and stakeholders at all levels
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident using training management systems and Microsoft Office
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
Industry-specific licences/tickets if relevant, e.g. White Card, high-risk work licence
