This role offers substantial client contact, regular court appearances and the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners on a broad range of criminal law matters.

The Role
n
You will work on a diverse range of criminal law files, including:
n
n
Summary and indictable criminal matters
n
Bail applications
n
Intervention order proceedings
n
Traffic and driving offences
n
Pleas and contested hearings
n
Appearing and instructing in Magistrates', County and Supreme Court matters
n
Instructing counsel and preparing briefs
n
Advising clients and managing files from commencement through to resolution
n
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
1–3 years post-admission practising predominately in Criminal Law
n
Advocacy experience across the Victorian Court jurisdictions
n
a strong desire to continue developing a career in criminal defence
n
Excellent advocacy, communication and interpersonal skills
n
Strong drafting and file management abilities
n
The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
n
