Job Description

Tenterfield Shire Council is establishing a talent pool of versatile Administration and Customer Service Officers to step into short-term, casual, and on-call vacancies across our departments. You'll be the friendly face and voice of Council, delivering accurate and efficient clerical, reception, and administrative support.

Provide quality frontline customer service and handle face-to-face and telephone enquiries professionally and courteously.
n
Receipt EFTPOS, direct deposit, Post Billpay, Bpay, and credit card payments, balancing and reconciling daily.
n
Register companion animals and maintain the online register while setting up Council rooms for meetings.
n
Prepare correspondence, reports, and forms, and undertake photocopying, scanning, collating, binding, and laminating.
n
Process outgoing mail, assist with daily Post Office runs, banking reconciliations, and administrative support across departments.

What You Need

n

n
Certificate III in Business or Administration, or prior experience in customer service and administrative support.
n
Demonstrated experience in cash handling and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and database applications.
n
Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities,



and work to timelines in a pressured workplace with sound problem-solving skills.
n
Well-developed oral and written communication skills to relate to people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
n
A current Class C Australian Driver's Licence (previous Local Government experience is highly regarded).
n
