For a large national industrial engineering design firm based in Newcastle. For a Mechanical Engineer to provide design solutions for Defence projects

Requires Australian Citizenship and experience with CAD 3D Solid Modelling, CAE FEA and conducting design reviews
n
Salary guide: $115,000 to $130,000
n
Newcastle region
n

A normal day includes:

n

n
Providing cutting-edge & cost effective engineering solutions, new approaches & techniques to the design and development of recent products and problem solving.
n
Providing concept design, preliminary and detailed design analysis of structural and mechanical products utilising CAD 3D Solid Modelling and CAE FEA software applications.
n
Providing skilled technical report writing and assistance with preparation of tender responses.
n
Provide manufacturing support including design for manufacture reviews and development of manufacturing work instructions.
n
Conducting formal design review meetings, including preparation of presentation material and provision of meeting agendas and minutes.
n

You'll be working with multidisciplinary design team and suppliers to deliver practical,



innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.

n

Other duties could also include

n

n
Develop and maintain project schedules based on project scope of work and key milestones.
n
Review project costs and schedule against contracted deliverables and budgets and provide status reports and forecasting.
n
Develop technical specifications/statement of work for outsourcing of specialised engineering and manufacturing services.
n
Conduct of site inspections and measurement including provision of condition reports and as-built manufacturing drawings and associated records.
n
Liaise with internal/external customers, service providers and networks on a regular basis to maintain healthy relationships, understand their business operations and objectives.
