Our client is looking to hire an experienced perioperative leader ready to run their own unit at a busy, fast-paced Brisbane day surgery.
This is a genuine leadership position where your clinical credibility and management ability will be put to good use from day one.
About the Facility
A well-established private day surgery in central Brisbane, running a high-volume theatre list across gastroenterology, gynaecology, plastics and urology.
The pace is real, the lists are full, and the site needs a leader who can run it end to end.
The Role
This is a Nurse Unit Manager position reporting directly to the Director Of Nursing.
You will be accountable for clinical standards, staffing and day-to-day theatre performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the theatre nursing team across a range of surgical specialties
Building and overseeing rosters to ensure the unit runs efficiently
Driving clinical standards,



compliance and quality across the floor
Working closely with the DON on unit performance and operations
Developing and mentoring theatre staff.
Scrubbing and scouting as required to support the list
What You Will Need
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Proven experience in a NUM, ANUM or senior perioperative leadership role
Solid scrub and scout experience across mixed specialties (gastro, gynae, plastics or urology highly regarded)
Demonstrated ability to manage a team and run a unit at pace in a high-volume day surgery environment
Confidence in rostering, staff management and theatre coordination
A hands-on, practical leadership style
Full eligibility to work in Australia
