As the Assistant Retail Store Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all store operations, leading a dedicated team, achieving sales targets, and ensuring compliance with IGA standards and Australian legislation.
Key responsibilities
Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards in line with IGA's operational model
Plan and implement purchasing and marketing strategies
Set prices and promotions in line with profitability goals and supplier agreements
Sell goods and services to customers and advise on product use
Oversee inventory control and maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions
Train, and supervise staff; manage rosters for 24/7 shift coverage
Ensure store compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Maximise customer satisfaction and staff productivity
Report directly to store manager and owner.
About you
Minimum 1 years proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an IGA setting
Strong leadership and team management skills




Flexibility to work 18/7 shifts (5.00AM - ***** PM), including weekends and public holidays
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Full working rights in Australia
Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Business, Retail, or Management (highly regarded)
Knowledge of IGA systems, Metcash procedures, and POS software
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
