Plumbing Operations Manager / Senior Plumber

Cervini Bros Plumbing is looking for an experienced Senior Plumber who is ready to take the next step in their career and move into a leadership and operational management role. Cervini Bros Plumbing is an established plumbing company servicing the Wollongong, Illawarra and surrounding regions.
n
This is not a purely office-based management position. Initially, the role will be a hybrid position combining plumbing work with operational management, allowing the successful applicant to remain involved in the field while progressively taking greater responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the business.

The Role
n
Working directly with the Director, you will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the plumbing business while also remaining productive in the field where required.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Coordinating plumbers, apprentices, operators and subcontractors.
n
Scheduling and allocating labour across projects and service work.
n
Supervising multiple jobs and teams.
n
Providing technical plumbing support and fault-finding assistance.
n
Conducting site visits and quality inspections.
n
Ensuring work is completed correctly, efficiently and to company standards.
n
Monitoring labour hours, job budgets and productivity.
n
Identifying and managing variations and additional works.
n
Assisting with material procurement and project planning.
n
Managing client communication and resolving operational issues.
n
Ensuring ServiceM8 job notes, photos, timesheets and documentation are completed correctly.
n
Maintaining WHS compliance including SWMS, toolbox talks, site inspections and safe work procedures.
n
Managing and mentoring apprentices and tradespeople.
n
Assisting with staff performance and accountability.
n




Improving company systems and procedures.
n
Helping identify opportunities for repeat work and business growth.
n
Reporting operational performance to the Director.
n

Who We're Looking For
n
We aren't necessarily looking for someone who has already spent years sitting behind a desk as an Operations Manager.
n
We're looking for an experienced plumber who knows how to run jobs, lead people and solve problems and is ready to progress into management.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
NSW Plumbing Licence & relevant plumbing qualifications. (Cert 4 preferred)
n
Extensive experience as a qualified plumber.
n
Experience running jobs and supervising other tradespeople.
n
Strong understanding of plumbing, drainage and construction.
n
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
n
Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
n
Solid communication and leadership skills.
n
Good organisational and time-management skills.
n
Ability to communicate professionally with builders, clients, subcontractors and staff.
n
Understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices.
n
Computer and job-management software skills.
n
Current NSW Driver Licence. (HR License preferred)
n
n
Experience in maintenance, commercial plumbing, civil works, construction supervision or project management would be highly regarded.
n
This role would suit an experienced plumber who is beginning to think about the next stage of their career.
n
You may already be a Leading Hand, Supervisor, Foreman or Senior Plumber and want to move into management without immediately stepping completely away from the tools.
n
