The Opportunity
n
Are you a Diesel Fitter with a passion for maintaining and optimising heavy mobile equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team supporting operations at Groote Eylandt, NT.
n
As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the secure, reliable and efficient operation of our fleet through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs.
n
Roster: 7/7 FIFO | Location: Groote Eylandt, NT (FIFO from Cairns or Darwin) | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As the Diesel Fitter, you will:
n
n
Perform servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
n
Complete breakdown repairs, fault finding and component change-outs safely and efficiently.
n
Utilise OEM manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based systems to diagnose and resolve issues.
n
Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
n
Maintain high housekeeping standards and promote a strong safety culture.
n
Collaborate with the broader maintenance team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
n

About you
n
n
Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
n
Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience within mining or heavy earthmoving environments.
n
Experience maintaining CAT and/or Hitachi mobile equipment.
n




Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
n
Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices.
n
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
n
Experience with vehicle air-conditioning systems.
n
HR Driver's Licence.
n
