About the role
n
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria.
n
The Associate Health Services Manager (AHSM) will assist the Health Services Manager (HSM) to manage the provision of primary health services at their location/s. In particular, the AHSM is responsible for coordinating nursing staff at their location/s.
n
The role assists the HSM with reporting on Key Performance Measures (KPMs) and other Client/GEO Healthcare reporting requirements.
n
When not engaged in assisting the HSM, the AHSM will undertake the duties of a Registered Nurse: delivering health services which enhance and promote the health of prisoners through evidenced-based, comprehensive and professional nursing care within a prison setting.
n
The role requires the incumbent to perform all duties in accordance with the GEO Healthcare Values.

This opportunity exist on a Full time basis at Loddon / Middleton Prison Annex in Castlemaine, VIC. Positions may cover Monday - Sunday.

Skills and Experience:
n
The ideal candidate will have:
n
Essential:
n
n
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
n
Minimum three years of postgraduate clinical experience as a registered nurse.
n
Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing the role.
n
Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care.
n
Demonstrated competence in clinical and problem-solving skills.
n
Demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplinary team.
n
Demonstrated ability to contribute to the professional practice within the health facility.
n




Demonstrated competence in written and verbal communication skills
n
Interpersonal and negotiation skills that ensure positive relationships are built and maintained with staff, the Client and stakeholders.
n
Demonstrated basic level of computer literacy.
n
Demonstrated knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Health and Safety principles

Other Requirements of the role:
n
n
Valid Australian driver's licence.
n
Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
n
Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
n
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
n
Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required, e.g. night shifts and weekends.
n
Ability to work a variety of shifts (including weekends and public holidays).
n
Onsite working (no hybrid or remote working).
