Are you a Systems Architect with Product Development experience? Do you want to work on a leading-edge Mining Operational Technology product that is used globally to manage surface mines operations using
robotics/automation
for mine haul trucks, blast hole drilling machines, dozers and etc?
n
A large multi-national with a Software Product Development Centre here in Brisbane, which is part of a wider effort with significant teams in the US, Canada and India, needs you to join their Solutions Architecture team. As a member of the architecture team, you will be working to evolve the product suite in close collaboration with a wide variety of business, customer and leadership stakeholders for Mine Haul Truck Fleet Management, Autonomous Command & Control of Mine Haul Trucks and Production Recording capabilities across large and small mining operations on a global scale.

This is a deeply technical role where you can exhibit your expert technical capability and experience in building complex systems. The ability to communicate these concepts is essential.

Responsibilities
n
n
Combine business objectives and solution intent to produce system-level designs that explain the structure, components and interactions in enough detail for a development team to consume
n
Peer-review of solution and system-level designs to ensure they meet business requirements, comply to best practices, consider system constraints and remain aligned to the broader enterprise strategy
n
Presentation of designs to relevant stakeholders
n
Provide technical leadership throughout the development process, helping to remove technical challenges or roadblocks as they arise




n
Ensure the product feature developments are being executed in accordance with the product technical direction, meet the needs of the solution intent and aligned to the enterprise strategy
n
Maintaining designs and documentation as the system evolves over time
n
Contribute to the selection and approval of technologies that best suit the problem at hand
n
Guide, document and communicate architectural decision
n
Contribute to
establishing/maintaining
design standard
n
Collaborate with other architects to provide insights that drive improvements to delivery program processes/ways of working as well as external processes that impact the product
n
n
Skills/Experience Required
n
n
A bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or related discipline
n
+7 Years of relevant commercial software development experience, having worked with Java or similar languages, Microservices and distributed architectures, Up-to-date databases, technologies and techniques & Applications deployed both in cloud and on-premises
n
Strong collaboration skills with local and remote teams
n
Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
n
Able to communicate technical information effectively and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
n




Experience with modern security principles and technologies
n
Experience in Cloud Based Technologies
n
Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills
n
n
Desired skills and experience
n
n
Previous experience working as a Lead Developer or System Architect within a product delivery organisation
n
Previous experience in mining business domain and/or mining technology OEM
n
Willingness to stay up to date on latest technology trends and make recommendations for adoption where appropriate
n
Willingness to take on-board and provide feedback to colleagues, junior staff, and leaders
n
Willingness to undertake training and professional certifications as required
n
Willingness to get your hands dirty in the code, working with our developers to prototype out patterns, methods and technologies.
n
Willingness to travel interstate and internationally to support the role
n

Employment terms
n
It's an office-based role (5 days per week with flexible hours) based in the Brisbane CBD near Central Station & bus stops. This is a contract role running for an initial period of 12 months. Strong performers will be extended as the work is on-going.
n
Candidate eligibility

Candidates must have Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian PR to be considered for this role. Preference will be given to candidates already residing in Greater Brisbane.
