As we continue to grow, we're investing in our Legal team to support the increasing scale and complexity of our business. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of significant legal matters across a nationally operating organisation, with the variety, responsibility and commercial exposure that's difficult to find elsewhere.

Reporting to the Head of Legal and working within the broader Legal, Risk and Governance team, you'll be a trusted business partner who provides commercially pragmatic legal advice, supports strategic decision-making and helps manage legal risk across the Group.
n
You'll work closely with senior executives and General Managers, giving you visibility and influence across every aspect of the business.
n
What you'll do
n
Lead Autosports Group's property legal function and play a key part in the Autosports Group property strategy, partnering with senior stakeholders on strategic leasing, acquisitions, developments and construction projects across more than 90 dealership locations.
n
Support with the Group's litigation and dispute portfolio.
n
Provide advice on Australian Consumer Law, competition law and privacy and spam legislation.
n
Support dealership acquisitions and strategic corporate transactions by providing practical legal advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
n
Draft, negotiate and review a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, services agreements, confidentiality agreements and other business-critical documentation.
n
Partner with the Head of Legal to monitor legislative and regulatory developments and implement legal compliance initiatives across the Group.
n
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Legal function through continuous improvement of templates, precedents, legal operations and matter management processes.
n
Mentor and guide Legal Counsel, fostering a collaborative, high-performing and commercially focused legal team.

What you'll bring
n
8+ years' post-qualification experience, with strong in-house legal experience or a combination of private practice and in-house.
n
Knowledge and understanding of Australian Consumer Law, the Corporations Act, privacy legislation and general commercial law.
n
Experience across property law, commercial leasing, construction or commercial litigation will be highly valued but not essential
n
Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions or complex commercial transactions is advantageous.
n
A practical, commercially minded approach with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
n
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to partner effectively with senior executives and business leaders.
n
A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering practical business outcomes.
