A growing, private equity backed wholesale and distribution business is seeking a Finance Manager to join its high-performing finance team. Operating across Australia and New Zealand, the business has expanded significantly through organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is a broad role responsible for the day-to-day finance function across a key business unit. You will oversee financial reporting, controls and compliance while supporting budgeting, forecasting, commercial analysis and business integration.
This an excellent opportunity for a technically robust accountant looking to develop broader commercial and people leadership capability.
The Challenge
As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Managing the end-to-end month-end and year-end close process, including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting
Preparing monthly financial analysis and commentary for senior management
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and commercial decision-making
Supporting statutory reporting,
tax compliance and the annual external audit
Providing day-to-day leadership and guidance to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team
Preparing financial analysis, business cases and recommendations to improve performance
Supporting acquisitions and leading the finance integration of newly acquired businesses
Driving process improvements, automation and standardisation across finance systems and controls
The Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
CA or CPA qualification
Strong financial accounting experience, including ownership of month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial controls
Experience within a multi-entity, distribution, supply chain, wholesale, manufacturing or similarly complex business environment
Exposure to inventory, working capital and operational finance
Strong analytical capability, with exposure to budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis advantageous
Confidence engaging with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
A proactive and improvement-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship required
