Expression of Interest - Senior Opencut Shotfirer & Senior Blast Technician

EPC Blastcon Australiais seeking an expression of interest for experienced Senior Shotfirers and Senior Blast Technicians to join our dynamic team in Townsville, Queensland.
n
This is a full time opportunity to contribute to our growing operations, where yourexpertise in drill and blast will be essential. Based in
Townsville/Charters
Towers, North QLD, these roles are predominately DIDO, where rosters patterns will vary.
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
Supervise and coordinate the drill and blast process, ensuring safe and efficient operations
n
Prepare, design and execute blasting plans, using various software packages whilst working closely with the mining team
n
Oversee digitalisation technology & implementation across the region
n
Oversee design, QAQC & environmental parameters
n
Conduct Shotfirer operations to current industry best practises
n
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures
n
Maintain accurate records and provide detailed reporting on all drilling and blasting activities
n
Assist in the training and development of junior team members
n
Collaborate with the wider mining crew to optimise productivity and operational excellence
n
Conduct survey operations
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Proven experienceas a Senior Shotfirer/Senior Blasting
Technician/Surveyor
in the mining industry
n
You will have aminimum of 10 years recent experiencein Quarry, Construction, Hard Rock (Gold)



& Coal Mining
n
Surveying, design experience and a drone pilot licence is essential. Demonstrated experience with Emlid & DJI software & equipment is essential.
n
Strong understanding of drill and blast operations, including planning, execution and safety protocols
n
Excellent communication and strong leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate & work within a team environment
n
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to risk management
n
Demonstrated understanding of Blast Hole Drills & Blast Hole Drilling operations
n
Relevant industry qualifications, including a current unrestricted QLD Shotfirers License, QESC (Queensland Explosive Security Clearance) & a current manual Drivers Licence
n
Ability to complete & pass a full medical, including a D&A; screen
n
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
n
Excavator/Skid Steer/Front end Loader competencies would be highly advantageous
n
Must have electronic blasting experience & relevant certification
n
