Access Elevators is a Sydney-based lift installation company delivering lift construction and installation services across metropolitan Sydney. Due to continued demand, the company is seeking an experienced Lift Fitter / Mechanical Installer to join its growing team.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Install mechanical lift components in accordance with manufacturer specifications, EN ***** requirements and other applicable standards.
n
Assemble and install lift car structures, guide rails, landing doors and associated equipment.
n
Plumb and align lift shafts, rails and installation reference points.
n
Install and tension lift ropes, complete re-roping of existing lifts, and install associated mechanical systems.
n
Complete lift levelling and mechanical door-lock installations.
n
Interpret technical drawings, plans and manufacturer installation instructions.
n
Measure and set out installation points accurately.
n
Install, test, adjust and commission mechanical lift components.
n
Identify and report installation issues, defects or inconsistencies.
n
Safely dismantle and remove redundant mechanical lift components where required.
n
Organise tools, materials and components throughout each installation project.
n
Liaise with builders, subcontractors, suppliers and project personnel.
n
Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
n




Protect company equipment, tools and materials from loss or damage.
n
Complete installation work within agreed project timeframes.
n
Install overspeed governor systems and associated lift safety components.
n

Requirements
n
n
At least two years of relevant experience in lift fitting, mechanical installation, mechanical fitting or a closely related position.
n
Demonstrated experience installing or assembling mechanical equipment and structural components.
n
Previous lift, elevator or vertical-transport installation experience will be highly regarded.
n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
n
Solid measuring, alignment and mechanical problem-solving skills.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
n
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Good communication skills and a professional approach when working on client and construction sites.
n
Current driver licence and willingness to travel between project sites throughout metropolitan Sydney.
n
Construction White Card or willingness to obtain one before commencing work.
n
Relevant trade qualification is desirable but not essential where the applicant can demonstrate substantial relevant experience.
