Payroll Officer (11 Month FTC)

We're partnering with a well-known entertainment business seeking an experienced
Payroll Officer
to join the team on an
11-month fixed term contract
.
This is a hands-on role supporting payroll operations across both Australia and New Zealand, working closely with outsourced providers to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant processing.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Lead, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day payroll coordination, acting as the key link between the business and external providers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring the payroll inbox and responding to employee queries in a timely and professional manner
Managing payroll changes and preparing accurate instructions for outsourced providers
Liaising with the outsource providers to ensure seamless payroll processing
Coordinating fortnightly and monthly pay runs across Australia and New Zealand
Reviewing draft payroll reports to ensure all changes have been captured correctly
Identifying, quantifying, and escalating exceptions prior to final review by the Payroll Lead
Supporting compliance across AU & NZ payroll legislation
About You
Proven payroll experience across Australia (NZ exposure highly regarded)
Comfortable working with outsourced payroll providers
Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
Confident reviewing reports and identifying discrepancies
Clear communicator who can manage employee queries with professionalism
Able to manage multiple pay cycles and deadlines
