Join our dedicated maternity and neonatal team at Calvary Health Care Tasmania.
n
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate neonatal nurse to take on the role of Special Care Nursery facilitator within our well-established maternity service.
n
This permanent ******* FTE day work position will be undertaken as a job share arrangement with our existing SCN Facilitator. Hours and FTE can be negotiated within the ******* FTE range for the successful applicant.
n
About The Role
n
The Special Care Nursery Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of our 9-bed Level 2 Special Care Nursery, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, family-centred care to newborns requiring specialised neonatal support.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Coordinate the daily operations and patient flow within the 9-bed Level 2 Special Care Nursery.
n
Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to nursing and midwifery staff.
n
Support staffing coordination, resource management and bed utilisation.
n
Promote evidence-based neonatal care and best practice standards.
n
Facilitate staff education, mentoring and professional development.
n
Participate in quality improvement, risk management and accreditation activities.
n




Foster a culture of family-centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
n
Contribute to service planning, policy development and ongoing improvements in neonatal care.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n
n
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
n
Significant experience in neonatal nursing and/or Special Care Nursery practice.
n
Demonstrated leadership and coordination experience.
n
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
n
Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
n
Experience supporting staff development, education and clinical mentoring.
n
A passion for providing exceptional care to newborns and their families.
n
