We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.
n
The role
n
Reporting to the Team Leader Youth Wellbeing and Belonging, we are seeking a Youth Wellbeing Officer who can bring their skills, experience and passion for working with young people. The role will involve:
n
n
Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Council's strategic priorities that improve community engagement and wellbeing opportunities for young people.
n
Lead the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of innovative youth engagement initiatives that promotes youth wellbeing, participation, inclusion, leadership, belonging, play, physical activity and community connection.
n
To provide intake and assessment for young people aged ***** years seeking counselling and support.
n
Develop and deliver engaging programs, events and activities that respond to the interests,
aspirations and emerging needs of young people using community development and strengths-based approaches.
n

To be considered you will have
n
n
Local government experience is desirable
n
Relevant Degree and/or Masters Qualification and several years' experience in Youth Work, Wellbeing, Social Work or related discipline and
membership/registration
with the relevant association
n
Demonstrated experience in designing, delivering and evaluating youth wellbeing and engagement programs and projects.
n
A strong understanding of the application of the YacVic Code of Ethics.
n
Sound understanding of personal development, family functioning, interpersonal relationships and issues relating to young people.
n
A positive, curious and flexible attitude
n
Availability to work on weekends and after standard hours is essential
n
