n
Who we are
n
Positive Futures Queensland is a small practice delivering high-quality, holistic support to people in the NDIS. We genuinely care about our team — if our people are happy and safe at work, the quality of what we deliver follows. We work in a hybrid way, mixing office,
home and mobile services, so you'll have real flexibility in how you structure your week.
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
Leading a team. Provide individual and group supervision to a team of behaviour support practitioners, alongside our other Senior Clinicians.
n
Developing plans. Write Comprehensive and Interim Behaviour Support Plans that meet the NDIS Commission's requirements around Restrictive Practices.
n
Delivering person-centred support. Carry a diverse, complex caseload across the community and our offices, supported by a multidisciplinary team.
n
Sharing your expertise. Train and advise stakeholder teams on best practice, Restrictive Practices, and the relevant QLD legislation and national guidelines.
n
Assessing and reviewing. Complete adaptive behaviour and functional assessments (and
diagnostic/cognitive
assessments if within your scope), and evaluate strategies with families and stakeholders through regular reviews.
n
Collaborating widely. Liaise with clients, allied health, carers, families, and government departments — and provide counselling or psychosocial skill development where it sits within your qualifications.
n
n
Why you'll want to join us
n
n
Reduced direct client workload and manageable KPIs, so you can focus on your team and your specialised cases.
n
Supervision from Advanced and Specialist practitioners, plus access to both individual and group supervision.
n
A caseload matched to your skills, interests and preferred areas — we work around what suits you.
n
Full admin support, a laptop and devices, and mileage for any mobile travel.
n
Onsite board-approved secondary supervision as a provisional psychologist, if relevant.
n
Real professional development opportunities, and a team that celebrates its wins — regular social events and a genuine commitment to work-life balance.
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Registered as Advanced or Specialist with the NDIS Commission, or clear evidence you're working towards it.
n
At least 3 years' experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner or in an equivalent role (preferred).
n
A relevant tertiary degree (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Counselling, Social Welfare, Disability, Teaching or Social Sciences).
n
Experience supervising or coaching other practitioners (preferred).
n
Experience with complex clients, including people with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and non-verbal clients.
n
Strong knowledge of Restrictive Practices and confidence advising providers and families.
n
Excellent report writing and clinical writing skills.
n
Warm, fair and effective interpersonal and leadership skills.
n
Registration with the relevant governing body where appropriate (AHPRA, Ed QLD, AASW, etc.). Provisional registration is suitable.
n
A reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to clients and stakeholders as needed (mileage covered).
n
n
