We are now expanding our Criminal Law practice in Brisbane and are seeking a Senior Associate Criminal Lawyer Brisbane to lead our growing Queensland team.

About the Role

This Senior Associate Criminal Lawyer Brisbane opportunity offers an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership position within a dynamic and supportive firm.

You will manage a diverse criminal law caseload while also leading and mentoring the Brisbane Criminal Law team. You will work closely with the National Practice Director and Practice Leader (Sydney), both accredited specialists.

Key Responsibilities
n
As a Senior Associate Criminal Lawyer, you will:
n

Provide expert legal advice and representation in criminal law matters, including complex cases
n
Manage a high-volume criminal law caseload from start to finish
n
Draft high-quality legal documents, including charges, defences, and court submissions
n
Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and mediations
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
n




Support business development and growth of the criminal law practice
n
Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and develop team capability
n
Assist in developing legal precedents and internal policies
n
Participate in strategy and executive business meetings
n
Manage team financial performance and achieve billing targets
n
n
About You
n
To succeed in this Senior Associate Criminal Lawyer Brisbane role, you will have:
n
n
Minimum 5+ years' post-admission experience in Criminal Law
n
Strong experience handling complex criminal law matters
n
Specialist Accreditation (highly regarded)
n
Excellent knowledge of criminal law procedures and court advocacy
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and a busy caseload
n
A proactive, client-focused approach
n
Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
n
A genuine interest in transitioning into a leadership role
n
