Job Description
ConX Hire is seeking a talented and experienced Financial Controller to join our ConX Hire team in Shepparton, VIC on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position within our finance function, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's financial health and compliance with regulatory requirements, whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of the organisation.

What you'll be doing
n
Managing and overseeing all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger functions
n
Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
n
Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency
n
Conducting financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement
n
Managing the annual budget process, including forecasting, budget preparation and monitoring actual performance against budgets
n
Overseeing tax compliance, including tax planning, preparation of tax returns and liaison with external tax advisors
n
Managing relationships with external auditors and preparing documentation for audits
n
Providing financial advice and support to management to facilitate informed decision-making
n
Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency and continuous improvement
n
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and regulatory requirements
n
What we're looking for
n
Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline, with professional accounting qualifications (such as CPA, CA or CIMA) highly desirable
n




Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a financial controller or senior finance management role within a medium to large organisation
n
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and taxation requirements relevant to Australia
n
Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with MYOB, Xero or similar platforms is advantageous
n
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights to support strategic planning
n
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
n
Demonstrated experience in managing and developing finance teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal capabilities
n
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting and record-keeping
n
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial management tools
n
Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management and audit requirements
n
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
