THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to theEnvironmental Superintendent, theSenior Environmental Advisorwill ensure compliance with company environmental policies and procedures, relevant regulations and all environmental commitments.
Actively support and participate in environmental initiatives and promote environmental responsibility across the site and to contractor personnel.




Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements to enable the Company to meet its legislative and regulatory requirements.
Collate data and report on environmental impact.
Provide guidance and advise in regarding environmental and risk requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare environmental approval and reporting documentation as per regulatory requirements
This may include:
Interpretation of consultant reports
Defining environmental impacts
Reviewing, collecting and managing relevant environmental data
Preparing environmental management plans
Detailing environmental management commitments and conditions
Prepare for, conduct and document meetings with government and other external parties.
Ensure that the appropriate level of community consultation is conducted.
Liaise with project teams, operations, planning and other support departments in designing projects and defining the environmental impacts and management strategies.
Preparing Environmental reports including AER's, MRF, NPI, NGERS.
Operations Support
Facilitate the ongoing development of environmental management systems to ensure a resource for compliance with all approval conditions and commitments
Support ongoing rehabilitation and monitoring
Contribute to development and project studies
Support the onsite initiates for Indigenous engagement or projects
Coordinate Weed and Feral Animal Management programs
Coordinate the onsite native vegetation clearing process
Provide education and knowledge to all associated departments
Coordinate inspection, compliance monitoring and field audit schedules
Surveys




Coordinating and managing external technical specialist consultants and heritage surveys.
Preparing scope of works, selecting consultants and accompanying consultants on field work.
Assisting in field work as required.
Support the onsite initiates for Indigenous engagement and the potential for involvement in environmental activities
Team
Promote and work collaboratively across the areas of the mine infrastructure and leave to illicit compliance with managing environmental risk and proactively driving a culture of respect for the environment and native heritage are the mine is permitted to operate in.
Educate and recommend relevant training to be implemented in support of environmental monitoring or compliance.
Engage as required in negotiations and discussions supporting the site operations team or corporate team to achieve access and approval requirements.
Manage Junior staff and provide mentoring
ABOUT ME:
A degree or diploma in Environmental Science
A friendly and proactive attitude
4-5 years previous experience on an operational mine
Through understanding of regulatory requirements
