We're looking for a hands‐onMaster Data Specialistto support a major data transformation and SAP integration project across an Australian and New Zealand business.
This isn't a high-level data governance role.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail – taking data from existing systems, cleansing it, transforming it, enriching it and ultimately getting it into the right shape to move into SAP.
If you're strong in Excel, understand how data needs to be structured within an ERP environment and enjoy turning messy data into something useful, accurate and migration‐ready, this could be right up your street.
What you'll be doing: Working closely with business, project and technology stakeholders, you'll support the preparation and transformation of master data ahead of migration into SAP.
Your role will include:
Extracting, cleansing, transforming and enriching data from existing business systems
Preparing master data for migration into SAP
Analysing and comparing data sets to identify gaps, duplicates, inconsistencies and quality issues
UsingExcelextensively, including macros and modern productivity tools such asCopilot, to manipulate and improve data
Understanding how source data needs to be structured and mapped into the target ERP environment
Working with business users to validate, cleanse and improve data
Undertaking data audits and resolving quality issues ahead of migration
Supporting broader data transformation and integration activities
Helping establish practical, repeatable approaches to maintaining high‐quality data
What we're looking for




You don't need to be a senior data architect or enterprise data governance specialist.
What we do need is someone who is hands‐on, analytical and comfortable working directly with data.
Ideally, you'll bring
Previous experience working on adata transformation, migration or ERP project
A good understanding ofERP data structures and master data
Strong hands‐on experience withdata cleansing, transformation and enrichment
AdvancedExcelskills – including experience using macros or similar automation techniques
An interest in using modern tools, including AI/Copilot, to work with data more efficiently
The ability to work with large data sets and identify patterns, discrepancies and quality issues
Robust attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving
Confidence working with both business and technology stakeholders
SAP experience would be highly regarded, but isn't essential – broader ERP migration experience and an understanding of how data needs to be structured for an ERP environment are more important.
The opportunity: This is initially a 4‐month contract, starting in September and running through to mid‐January, supporting a defined project and its immediate data requirements.
There may also be the potential for a longer‐term opportunity beyond the initial contract as the broader transformation progresses.
It's a great fit for someone who likes being close to the work – not writing strategies about data quality, but actually getting the data clean, structured and ready to go.
