Our services span housing and homelessness, education and employment pathways, AOD support, therapeutic programs, youth justice initiatives, and more.
About the role
We are seeking a passionate, values‐driven Youth Counsellor / Group Facilitator to join the Oasis Drug and Alcohol Youth Support team. You will provide counselling and psychoeducational group programs to young people aged ***** across Hamilton,NSW.
You will play a key role in reducing AOD‐related harm through high‐quality, client‐centred psychosocial support, including early intervention, prevention, and therapeutic interventions that enhance health, wellbeing, and social outcomes. You will also lead partnership development and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
This is a part‐time 3 days a week role, based in Oasis Youth Services Hunter, NSW. Salary and conditions align with the Health Professionals Level 3 Award.
How you will make an impact
Deliver evidence‐based psychotherapy and counselling to young people with substance use concerns
Facilitate individual and group psychoeducation programs




Provide accessible information to clients, families, and service providers
Conduct assessments for young people with co‐existing mental, physical, or social challenges
Maintain an environment free from alcohol and non‐prescribed medications
Support young people on waitlists
Ensure trauma‐informed, psychologically informed practice with timely documentation
Apply critical thinking and reflective practice across all work
Meet mandatory reporting requirements
Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and collaborative initiatives
Provide culturally responsive support to diverse groups
Work collaboratively with internal programs and external agencies
Lead partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and external site visits
What you will bring
Registered or provisionally registered Psychologist (Bachelor of Psychology (Hons)), or
Accredited Counsellor with Bachelor/Postgraduate qualifications, or
Social Worker with Bachelor/Postgraduate qualifications and AASW eligibility, or
Other AHPRA‐registered allied health professionals with relevant experience
Experience in counselling and assessment with young people experiencing AOD concerns
Valid NSW Working with Children Check
Completion of Code of Conduct, WHS, and Bullying & Harassment training




Eligibility for registration with the relevant qualified body
