Placed.au is looking for a full-time
Childcare Worker
for our client in
Penshurst, New South Wales
. This role is responsible for supporting children's learning, development, health, safety, and wellbeing while contributing to a high-quality educational program and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider service community.
Job Description
Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff, and management to support positive outcomes for children and families.
Contribute to the educational program under the direction of the Lead Educator and support a high-quality play-based learning environment.
Assist with planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Support children's learning and development through observations, investigations, projects, and planned activities.
Assist with documenting children's developmental needs, interests, experiences, participation, and progress.
Implement inclusive practices that respect children's diversity, culture, abilities, and individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Promote children's wellbeing and safety and comply with child protection requirements and mandatory reporting obligations.
Ensure children are appropriately supervised and educator-to-child ratios are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations.
Respond appropriately to children's additional needs, including dietary requirements, allergies, developmental needs, and adjustments.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety.
Assist with first aid and medication administration in accordance with service policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, injuries, trauma, illness, children's development, and educational programs.
Maintain a safe, supportive, stimulating, and educational environment and report hazards,
repairs, and maintenance requirements.
Contribute positively to the team environment and participate in professional development, staff meetings, and family meetings as required.
Develop respectful and nurturing relationships with children and support their participation, cultural safety, inclusion, and empowerment.
Build positive relationships with families and encourage their participation in service activities and decision-making.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with service policies, the National Quality Framework, and relevant legislation and regulations.
Skill & Experience
Qualifications / Attributes
Must hold a
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
, or a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
Must hold a current
Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting
certificate.
Must hold current
ACECQA-approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
.
Must hold a valid
Working with Children Check clearance
.
Must have completed
accredited Child Protection Training
.
Demonstrated knowledge of the
Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
and relevant early childhood education and care legislation and regulations.
Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, service policies, and child safety requirements.
Strong understanding of child protection responsibilities and mandatory reporting requirements.
Ability to build positive, respectful, and nurturing relationships with children and families.
Ability to contribute effectively to educational planning, observation, documentation, implementation, and reflection.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to skilled and ethical conduct.
Commitment to inclusion, diversity, cultural safety, and the wellbeing of every child.
Salary Range
$75,000 – $85,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
