About the role
n
This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing commercial contracts, negotiations, and relationships across our construction projects. You will play a critical part in ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. This position offers the prospect to make a significant impact on the commercial success of our organisation whilst working with a dynamic team on high-profile construction initiatives.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Managing and administering all commercial aspects of construction contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes
n
Negotiating terms and conditions with contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to protect company interests
n




Preparing and reviewing commercial documentation including tender submissions, contracts, and commercial proposals
n
Monitoring project budgets, expenditure, and cashflow forecasts to ensure financial targets are met
n
Identifying and managing commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
n
Liaising with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment
n
Maintaining detailed records of contractual obligations, payment schedules, and key milestones
n
Providing commercial advice and strategic guidance to senior management on project and contract matters
n
Resolving commercial disputes and managing claims processes in a timely and professional manner
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Extensive experience in commercial contracts management within the construction industry, ideally gained on large-scale or complex projects
n
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including understanding of standard forms such as AS ********* and other industry-standard templates
n
Proven experience in contract negotiation, variations management, and claims administration
n
Solid financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecast costs,



and manage project cashflow
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively at all levels
n
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously
n
Proficiency with relevant software and systems for contract management and project administration
n
Professional certification in construction contracts management or equivalent recognised qualification is highly desirable
n
The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
n
Sound understanding of construction law, risk management, and commercial best practice
n
