Key Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble and weld thin gauge metal components to various specifications as required from relevant detailed drawings
MIG and TIG light gauge steel 1.1mm to 3mm - Zincaneal, Galvabond, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
Grind and clean all steel, polish stainless Steel
Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet required standards and structural integrity
Adjust components where necessary using a grinder or other cutting tools
Fit components using jigs
General jobbing work fitting special hardware
Read and understand workshop drawings
Fabrication of profile lengths using bending and cutting machinery
Identify different material types and thicknesses
Conduct quality control checks on own Work
Complete required paperwork
Work within tolerance; ensure quality in the product
Maintaining production levels as required
Experience & Skills Required
Sheet metal or equivalent work experience
Sound written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square
Must be able to set the welding machine
Hours
Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am - 12:30pm
