Senior Project Officer – IT / Data & Systems
We're looking for an experienced
Senior Project Officer
to manage and coordinate the implementation of
IT projects supporting a Data and Systems program of work
within a large and complex technology environment.
This is a
contract chance through to 20 November
, suited to someone with strong hands-on IT project delivery experience who can take ownership of day-to-day delivery across multiple initiatives.
You'll work closely with internal IT teams, subject matter experts, business stakeholders and external vendors to keep projects moving and ensure key outcomes are delivered on time and within budget.
Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
What You'll Be Doing
Manage and coordinate the implementation of
IT projects supporting the Data and Systems program of work
.
Manage day-to-day delivery across multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and reporting.
Coordinate internal IT teams, subject matter experts, stakeholders and external vendors.
Manage project interdependencies to ensure priority initiatives remain on track.
Monitor budgets, resources and deliverables to support successful project outcomes.
Identify and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, developing appropriate mitigation strategies.

Monitor project progress, quality measures, benefits realisation and implementation impacts.




Build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issue management.
Provide clear and timely project updates and elevate risks and issues where required.
About You
You'll be an experienced IT project professional who is comfortable taking ownership of delivery and coordinating multiple workstreams within a complex stakeholder environment.
You will ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience
managing and coordinating the implementation of IT projects
, ideally across Data, Systems or broader technology programs.
Strong end-to-end IT project delivery experience.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities and interdependencies.
Strong project planning, scheduling, reporting, risk and issue management skills.
Experience coordinating
internal technology teams and external vendors
.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
Experience managing project milestones, resources and budgets.
Knowledge of established project management methodologies, ideally including
PRINCE2 and Agile
.
Experience with project management tools such as
MS Project and SharePoint
will be advantageous.
Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
Local Government experience will be highly regarded.
