As we enter an exciting growth phase, we are looking for a Senior Accountant and Team Leader who thrives on building trusted client relationships, leading a team, and delivering outstanding compliance and advisory outcomes.This is a client-facing leadership role at the heart of our practice.
You will own key client relationships, chair regular client meetings, review team output for quality and accuracy, and mentor junior staff — all while working closely with our partners on complex matters.What This Role Is Really AboutClient Relationships & MeetingsServe as the senior point of contact for a portfolio of key clients — individuals, companies, and trustsLead and conduct regular tax planning meetings, delivering clear, practical advice on tax efficiency strategiesBuild and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships with a focus on responsiveness and professional serviceLiaise professionally with the ATO, clients, and other external bodies on compliance and advisory mattersAdvise clients on accounting systems and record-keeping to support better business outcomesLead, mentor, and support junior team members day-to-day, setting a high standard for technical accuracy and client serviceReview work prepared by team members — including tax returns, BAS, FBT returns, and financial reports — ensuring quality and timeliness before lodgement or client deliveryProvide constructive guidance and real-time coaching to develop team capability and build confidenceManage workflow across the team, allocating work effectively and monitoring priorities and deadlinesWork closely with partners on complex matters, practice management priorities,
and client advisory workTechnical & CompliancePrepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, and trustsManage client compliance matters end-to-end, including BAS, FBT returns, and financial reportsAssist clients with cash flow forecasting and annual budgetsParticipate in ongoing professional development and internal training sessionsAbout YouYou are a confident, client-focused professional who enjoys leading people and building relationships just as much as doing outstanding technical work.
