Senior SMP Designer – Mining & Mineral ProcessingMincore is a specialist engineering consultancy delivering engineering studies, design and project delivery services across the mining, minerals processing, building materials and heavy industry sectors.With offices in Australia and Asia, Mincore supports mid-tier and major resource clients through scoping studies, prefeasibility studies, feasibility studies, detailed design and project execution.Due to continued project growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking an experienced Senior SMP Designer to join our Melbourne engineering team.This role will support the design and development of mineral processing plants and bulk materials handling facilities, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across studies, detailed design and project execution.The position is primarily based in our West Melbourne office; however, experienced Perth-based candidates will also be consideredThe RoleAs an SMP Designer, you will be responsible for developing 2D and 3D plant layouts and models for mining and mineral processing facilities.Typical plant areas include:Crushing and screening circuitsGrinding and milling equipmentPumps, slurry handling and process equipmentThickeners and process tanksConveyors and bulk materials handling systemsChutes, hoppers and transfer stationsEquipment and piping arrangementsYou will work closely with process, mechanical, civil, structural and electrical engineers to deliver high-quality plant designs across study and detailed design phases.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop 2D and 3D plant layouts for mineral processing facilitiesProduce structural, mechanical and piping (SMP)



layoutsPrepare general arrangement drawings and detailed design drawingsDevelop and maintain 3D models of process plantsAssist with clash detection and model coordinationCoordinate designs with multidisciplinary engineering teamsProduce construction documentation and drawing packagesSupport engineering teams during study and project delivery phasesDevelop equipment arrangements, access, maintenance and constructability requirementsIncorporate vendor data and engineering requirements into plant modelsAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will have:8+ years experience as an SMP Designer within an engineering consultancy/EPCM setting, preferably across mining and mineral processing projectsStrong experience producing 2D and 3D plant designsStrong hands‐on MicroStation capabilityExperience developing plant layouts and equipment arrangementsStrong understanding of mineral processing plants and materials handling systemsAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teamsExperience taking designs from study-level layouts through to detailed designA practical understanding of constructability, equipment access and maintenance requirementsExperience designing areas such as crushing circuits, grinding circuits, conveyors, slurry pumping systems and process equipment installations will be highly regarded.Equal Opportunity & Work EligibilityMincore is an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace.
