We are working on a long-term contract opportunity for an experienced WHS & Employment Lawyer to join a highly regarded and sought after Commonwealth Government team in Canberra.Our client is seeking a candidate to commence ASAP, for a 10 month term and an option to extend for 12 months through to 30 June ****.This is a outstanding opportunity for someone at Senior Associate level with experience in WHS and employment law who enjoys working across a broad mix of advisory, litigation and integrity matters.About the roleAdvising on WHS matters, including inspections and inquiriesEmployment law advice across APS employees, contractors and locally engaged staffManaging employment-related litigation and disputesResponding to complaints and claims,



including AHRC and Ombudsman mattersAdvising on integrity and governance issues, including conflicts of interest, Public Interest Disclosures and referrals to relevant agenciesReviewing advice prepared by junior lawyers and providing mentoring and guidanceGeneral legal advice across a variety of matters as requiredAbout youMinimum 7 years' PAE in WHS and/or employment lawStrong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationshipsPrevious Commonwealth Government experience will be highly regardedAGSVA clearance is essential
