Senior Technical Officer Stormwater & DrainageSenior Technical Officer Stormwater & DrainageMackay Regional Council | Permanent Full-Time | Level 5 or 6 **********k) + Super + Lifestyle BenefitsBenefitsSuper + Lifestyle BenefitsPublic Sector People are partnering with Mackay Regional Council to appoint a Senior Technical Officer Stormwater & Drainage—an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to play a key role in planning, designing and delivering stormwater and drainage infrastructure across one of Queensland's fastest-growing regional cities.Reporting to the Coordinator Stormwater & Drainage, this position provides specialist technical expertise across the investigation, planning, design and delivery of stormwater and flood mitigation infrastructure while supporting the ongoing performance and resilience of Council's drainage network.The RoleWorking within the Infrastructure Planning team, you will contribute to a broad range of projects that protect communities, improve infrastructure performance and support Mackay's continued growth.Key responsibilities include:Delivering stormwater, drainage and flood mitigation infrastructure projectsUndertaking technical investigations, site inspections and drainage assessmentsPreparing engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates and tender documentationManaging consultants, contractors and project delivery within delegated authoritySupporting the management and improvement of Council's stormwater and drainage assetsProviding technical advice to internal stakeholders and the development industryEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation,



engineering standards and Council policiesDriving continuous improvement across systems, processes and service deliveryThis is an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects that directly improve community resilience and liveability.About YouYou are an experienced engineering or technical professional with strong knowledge of stormwater and drainage infrastructure and enjoy working across project delivery, asset management and stakeholder engagement.You will bring:Experience in stormwater, drainage or civil infrastructure design and deliveryKnowledge of stormwater management, flood mitigation and asset management principlesExperience preparing technical documentation, scopes of work and tender specificationsProject and contractor management experienceStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience with AutoCAD, GIS and/or hydraulic modelling software such as TUFLOW (desirable)Relevant engineering or infrastructure qualification (or equivalent experience)Why Join Mackay Regional Council?
