With over 30 years in the industry, NRW Civil & Mining are proudto be one of the leading civil and mining contractors inAustralia.Scope of Work:Due to continued growth and recent project awards, NRW Civil &Mining; are seeking an experienced Senior SectionEngineer to join our high-performing team on upcominginfrastructure projects.This role will see you working on large-scale urban projectssuch as roads, bridges, rail, and associated infrastructure withina metro environment.
The successful candidate will provide seniortechnical leadership and engineering oversight, coordinating andadministering engineering activities to ensure projects aredelivered safely, in accordance with plans, designs, andspecifications, and to successful completion.You will play a key role in mentoring and developing SectionEngineers, Project Engineers and Graduates, acting as a seniorpoint of escalation and supporting the Construction Manager inclient-facing discussions and project reviews.Be part of a professional and collaborative team deliveringcritical infrastructure that supports growing communities.To be considered for the position as a Senior SectionEngineer you must possess the following as a minimum:Bachelor of Civil Engineering qualification or relevantdegreeExtensive experience as a Senior Section Engineer, SectionEngineer or similar role in a large-scale civil orinfrastructure environmentMain Roads WA experience highly regarded, with a strongunderstanding of authority requirements and approval processesincluding scope of works and requirementsDeep technical expertise across road and pavementconstruction, including bulk/detailed earthworks, subgradepreparation, and complex structuresHigh-level financial management experience, includingend-of-month reporting, package forecasting, variance analysis,and productivity optimisationDemonstrated ability to independently communicate andnegotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to meetproject objectives, escalating to the Construction Manager asrequiredCompetent in conducting,
reviewing and/or coordinatingPerformance Appraisals and Development Plans for directreportsDemonstrates active ownership in the monitoring and growthof direct reportsDemonstrated experience mentoring and developing SectionEngineers, Project Engineers and Graduate EngineersAbility to disseminate company communications in anengaging and consistent manner at project levelAbility to inspire and lead relevant work teams within theproject scopeDemonstrates an understanding, and can apply applicablelegislative requirements (i.e. WHS/OHS Act, Regulations,Quality and Environment)Experience in managing procurements and packages ofworksAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD and PDFsoftware packagesKnowledge of Microsoft Project / Primavera P6 softwareProven site execution capability, working with Supervisors,Superintendents and client representatives to maintain andbuild strong relationshipsAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively, withdemonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinaryengineering teamsReporting to the Construction Manager, you will beresponsible for but not limited to:Supervise Section Engineers, Project Engineers and GraduateEngineers and support the Construction Manager in the protected andefficient delivery of the projectProvide engineering leadership through safety, quality andenvironment behaviours and results (KPIs achieved)Lead risk management activities on projects, with HSEsupportManage risk reduction strategies over the project life toachieve risk mitigationEducate and cascade the rights and obligations under thecontract to engineers, particularly the process aroundvariations, latent conditions,
