This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role across core banking and API initiatives, with a strong focus on REST API testing and the migration of legacy SOAP services to modern REST-based services.Senior Test Analyst - API & Core Banking6-month initial contract (+Possible extensions)About the RoleAs a Senior Test Analyst, you will provide hands-on testing expertise across core banking and API initiatives, delivering functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and performance testing.A key focus of the role will be testing REST APIs and validating the migration of legacy SOAP services to REST.
You'll work closely with developers, business analysts, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure services are reliable, accurate and ready for release.Analyse user stories, requirements, legacy SOAP services and target REST API specifications to determine test coverage and feasibilityDesign, develop and maintain manual and Java-based automated test cases using TestNGPerform hands-on REST API functional testing using Swagger.io, Bruno and SOAP UIValidate SOAP-to-REST migration outcomes, including request and response structures, JSON/XML payloads, HTTP methods, status codes, error handling and data integrityExecute system, integration, regression and end-to-end testing across upstream and downstream servicesPlan and execute API performance, load, stress and endurance testing using Apache JMeterUse SQL to reconcile API results against backend databases and validate data integrityManage defects through investigation, root-cause analysis, re-testing and resolutionMaintain test traceability, documentation and reporting across the delivery lifecycleCollaborate closely with developers, business analysts,



vendors and stakeholders within an Agile delivery environmentContribute to the continuous improvement of testing tools, processes and automation practicesSkills & Qualifications5+ years' experience as a Test Analyst or Senior Test Analyst within complex technology and integration environmentsStrong hands-on experience testing REST APIsStrong API functional testing experience using Swagger.io, Bruno and SOAP UIExperience analysing legacy SOAP services and validating migration to REST APIsStrong Java-based automation experience using frameworks such as TestNGExperience with Apache JMeter for API performance and load testingStrong SQL and database testing capability, including validation of API data against backend databasesStrong understanding of JSON, XML, REST principles, SOAP services, HTTP methods and HTTP status codesStrong defect analysis, troubleshooting, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skillsExperience working within Agile or Scrum delivery environmentsExcellent stakeholder management, communication, consulting and facilitation skillsHighly regarded: experience testing APIs integrated with core banking platformsHighly regarded: banking or financial services experienceHighly regarded: CI/CD pipelines, automated test execution and Git/version control experienceDegree in a relevant discipline and/or formal software testing or quality assurance certificationWhy Apply?
