I am partnering exclusively with a leading Australian real estate investment organisation to recruit an Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Backed by one of Australia's largest institutional investors, the business manages a growing portfolio of high-quality commercial real estate investments across office, retail and logistics.The OpportunityWorking closely with the Financial Controller and broader Finance team, you will play an integral role in delivering accurate and timely accounting and reporting across a portfolio of established commercial real estate investments.This is a genuinely hands-on position where solid execution of BAU accounting is essential.
You will take ownership across month-end, reconciliations, reporting and year-end activities while ensuring the underlying financial information is accurate and reliable.Importantly, the role goes beyond producing the numbers.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide insight into financial and portfolio performance, while partnering with external property managers, auditors and tax advisers.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of BAU accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial real estate investmentsManage key month-end activities, including journals, reconciliations and reportingPrepare accurate and timely monthly financial and management reportingProvide meaningful analysis and insights into financial and portfolio performanceSupport accounting and reporting across investment and fund structuresPartner with stakeholders across Finance, Investment and Asset ManagementWork closely with external property managers and service providers,



including JLL and CBRESupport year-end financial reporting and the external audit processLiaise with external auditors and tax advisers and respond to queriesEnsure financial information is accurately maintained across corporate and fund accounting systemsSupport broader financial planning and analysis activities where requiredReview existing Finance processes and identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and efficiencyContribute to Finance initiatives as the investment platform continues to grow and scaleAbout YouWe're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Accountant who combines strong technical accounting foundations with the confidence to engage with stakeholders and provide insight beyond the numbers.You will be comfortable working within a lean Finance team where everyone contributes and will have the ability to quickly take ownership of your responsibilities and deliver within established reporting deadlines.You will bring:A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineCompleted CA or CPA qualificationStrong hands-on financial accounting experienceDemonstrated experience across month-end,



reconciliations and financial reportingStrong understanding of core accounting principles and financial controlsExperience supporting year-end reporting and external audit processesStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide meaningful insightsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsA proactive, collaborative and hands-on approachThe ability to operate effectively within a small, high-performing Finance teamExperience within asset management, investment management, funds management or property/real estate would be highly regardedFund accounting experience would be advantageous but is not essentialExposure to property investment structures would be advantageousAudit and/or tax experience would also be beneficialWhat's on Offer12-month fixed-term contract with potential for longer-term opportunitiesSalary package of $140,000 - $150,000 including superannuation, depending on experienceJoin a growing Australian real estate investment platform backed by a major institutional investorExposure to a high-quality commercial property portfolio spanning office, retail and logisticsBroad role combining financial accounting, investment/fund exposure, analysis and business partneringWork closely with senior Finance leadership in a lean and collaborative teamPartner with Investment and Asset Management stakeholders as well as leading external property managersOpportunity to contribute to process improvements as the investment platform continues to scaleAdditional wellbeing and company shutdown days throughout the yearGenerous Christmas shutdown arrangements in addition to annual leave
