The Role
The primary focus of the role will be TIG welding and fabrication, alongside mechanical technician and assembly work.
The role will suit someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in producing high-quality work rather than repetitive production welding.
TIG welding and precision fabrication
Construction and assembly of specialist equipment
Various manual fabrication tasks
Mechanical fitting and assembly
Working from engineering drawings
Supporting prototype builds and equipment modifications
Supporting Engineering and Machining teams as required
Machining where capable
Assisting with testing and commissioning of equipment
Providing practical input and feedback during builds and modifications
Requirements
Strong TIG welding capability is essential
Trade background in fabrication, welding, fitting or a related mechanical discipline
Strong mechanical aptitude
Machining experience would be highly regarded but is not essential
The company is open-minded on background and experience.
This could suit an experienced tradesperson looking for a stable, long-term role after years of contracting or jobbing, or someone earlier in their career who is keen to develop their skills in a highly technical environment.
More than anything, they are looking for someone who enjoys their trade, takes pride in doing things properly and will be genuinely interested in the technology they are helping to build.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be Australian Citizens and capable of obtaining the required security clearance.
