For over 50 years, Elephants Foot have been an industry leader in the supply and installation of waste handling solutions, specialising in chute systems and equipment across multi-unit residential developments, hotels, and other projects.
Following an increase in our project pipeline, we currently seek a skilled labourer to support our Victorian installation Operations.
About the role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will perform a broad and diverse scope of work, from the installation of mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic waste and recycling equipment and chute systems to the repairs, service and maintenance of different types of equipment on construction sites, and our workplace's locations.
You will be working in a fast-paced team environment, applying trade skills and experience to the installation of our systems.
You will be responsible for the timely completion and delivery equipment installations and other allocated tasks with a high level of workmanship, accuracy and a high degree of customer satisfaction without compromising on safety or quality
Requirements for role success:
Experience working on large scale construction projects, installing mechanical, electromechanical and hydraulic equipment and systems
The ability to understand and carry out directions from line managers and other responsible persons
High degree of professionalism, as you will be representing our company on site level
Strong work ethic and an ethical approach to the business and its operations
A working understanding and knowledge of electrical wiring and systems
Mechanically, electrically adept with exposure to hydraulic systems
Understanding of electrical, mechanical and minor hydraulic systems installation and processes
Ability to read and understand basic electrical wiring diagrams, control box schematics, plans, blueprints, elevations and diagrams
Capable of reacting to varying project/field conditions and the ability to make decisions to solve problems and changes onsite
Strong customer, quality and safety focus with a positive can do attitude and manner
Essential job requirements:
current and valid VIC drivers licence with the ability and confidence to operate manual vehicles
Construction general induction card, e.g. white card or equivalent
mechanical fitter trade
construction general induction card, e.g. white card or blue card
be punctual, reliable and willing to work reasonable overime
physically fit and capable to perform all required duties, with regular lifting 25kg +
be proficient in the use of powered and non-powered tools
have experience working on high rise construction projects
be willing to work well in a team environment and be a team player
work reasonable overtime as required, to ensure the successful delivery of projects/tasks
teamwork and communication skills
willingness to be clean shaven (for RPE fit testing)
restricted electrical license
working at heights ticket
Forklift Licence (High Risk Work Licence - LF class)
EWP ticket
