Senior House Officer (Emergency Medicine) – Fixed Term Temporary (Full-Time & Part-Time) opportunity until 17 January ****, based at Logan Hospital, Meadowbrook within Metro South Health.
Your new role:
As a Senior House Officer in the Emergency Department, you will contribute to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while building your clinical capability in a supportive, fast-paced environment by:
Assessing, examining and coordinating appropriate investigations for emergency patientsInitiating treatment plans and discharge planning under senior medical guidanceCommunicating effectively with senior clinicians regarding patient care and condition changesProviding clear explanations to patients and carers about diagnoses and treatment optionsParticipating in clinical education, audits and ongoing professional developmentMaintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to organisational standardsSupporting safe, inclusive and respectful care for all patients and staffContributing to patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities
About you:
You are a motivated and compassionate medical qualified who thrives in a team-based, high-pressure environment and is committed to continuous improvement with:
MBBS (or equivalent) registrable with the Medical Board of AustraliaDemonstrated clinical knowledge and sound decision-making skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and teamsEffective time management and ability to prioritise in a busy ED settingCommitment to ongoing learning, feedback and professional developmentA collaborative mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary teamsHigh standards of professionalism, integrity and patient-focused care
