NEACH operates in a high-accountability environment where technical quality, traceability, commercial discipline and reliable project delivery are critical.About the Role NEACH is strengthening its estimating capability and is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Steel Estimator to lead complex structural steel and SMP tenders.Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will independently manage the estimating process from initial opportunity review through to tender submission, post-tender clarification and project handover.You will work closely with the Commercial, Operations, Project Delivery and Production teams to ensure every estimate is accurate, competitive, properly risk-assessed and operationally deliverable.This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role at NEACH's Noosaville facility.
Standard office hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently lead the preparation of complex structural steel and SMP tendersComplete detailed take-offs and develop material, labour, subcontractor and project cost estimatesReview drawings, specifications, programmes and tender documentationIdentify technical, commercial, contractual and delivery risksPrepare supplier and subcontractor RFQs and evaluate quotation coverageDevelop tender qualifications, exclusions, assumptions and pricing recommendationsCoordinate internal tender reviews and prepare complete tender submissionsManage post-tender clarifications and pricing revisionsLead the estimating component of project handoversReview estimate-to-actual performance and maintain estimating benchmarksImprove estimating systems, templates,



databases and processesAbout You You are an experienced structural steel or SMP estimator who can independently manage complex tenders and provide commercially sound recommendations.
You understand how structural steel is fabricated, coated, transported and installed.
You can convert drawings, specifications, supplier pricing and delivery assumptions into a complete and defensible estimate.You will ideally bring:Substantial structural steel, fabrication or SMP estimating experience, typically seven or more years, or equivalent demonstrated capabilityExperience independently pricing complex structural steel packages, ideally valued at $5 million or moreStrong understanding of fabrication labour, materials, welding, coatings, transport and installation cost driversAdvanced drawing interpretation and quantity take-off capabilityExperience preparing and assessing supplier and subcontractor RFQsStrong commercial judgement and the ability to identify tender and contractual riskAdvanced Excel capability and experience using estimating or project management systemsStrong written communication, particularly tender qualifications, exclusions and commercial correspondenceThe ability to manage concurrent tenders and fixed submission deadlinesA trade, engineering, construction management or quantity surveying qualification, or equivalent industry experienceExperience with Tekla PowerFab or EPM, WorkBench, AS/NZS **** CC3, AS/NZS ****, MRTS78 or Tier 1 infrastructure projects will be well regarded but is not essential.Why Join NEACHSenior position with genuine ownership of the estimating processDirect involvement in tender strategy and commercial decision-makingComplex, high-specification structural steel and infrastructure projectsClose integration with experienced Commercial, Operations and Production teamsModern fabrication and steel processing capabilityEstablished Queensland business with more than 50 years of industry experienceCompetitive salaryNoosaville location and predictable office hours
