Our values are at the very heart of our firm and guide the way we interact within our firm's teams, with our clients, and the way we interact and engage with you.About the roleWe are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our fast growing and supportive external audit team, that offers a diverse client base, and incredible opportunities for growth and promotion.
You will take ownership of the entire audit process from planning, testing, preparing financial statements to preparing the management letter at the completion of the audit.
You will also be responsible for delegating work to junior staff members, ensuring you review all work and mentor them though the process.
Presenting internal and external training and conducting internal and external presentations are other key components of this position.Key responsibilitiesComplete the audit file for the full range of the firm's clients; from planning to finalisation of the audit fileComplete an audit assignment within budget and in accordance with any relevant deadlinesExplain the data flows through an accounting system and the related internal controls, enabling junior staff members to document and test those systems and controlsReview the work of junior staff,
and recognise internal control weaknesses and document them in a suitable management letterClear all Manager and Partner review points in relation to each audit assignment takenReview a financial report from the client's trial balance and complete the disclosure checklistPrepare non-standard management letters, correspondences and reports to clientComplete special assignments under the direction of the Audit ManagerWork co-operatively with other team members, mentor junior team membersUnderstand the nature of a client's business operations, needs and expectations, and identify any audit related issuesProvide constructive advice to clients, and promptly and accurately follow up any queriesKey skills and experienceMinimum of 3 years' experience working in an Audit environment in a Chartered / CPA accounting practiceDegree qualified and be near to qualifying or fully qualified as a CA/CPATechnically proficient and keen to develop knowledge with the latest accounting and auditing developmentsPrevious experience mentoring and coaching junior staff members, and review their workPrior experience working with and developing positive relationships with clientsGood time management skills and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines for multiple clientsPresent professionally and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperience with an Audit package such as Inflo, and Microsoft Office applicationsBest kept secrets of SWProgressive firm, with excellent career opportunitiesFlexible working environment2 additional AL days per year18 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and 3 weeks for non-primaryRefer to client and refer a friend bonus schemeEmployee Assistance Program and Wellness perks$**** towards home office setupSocial ClubTailored Learning and Development ProgramPaid Course/study leave1 paid professional membership per yearWeekly lunch provided
