A Mining town where generally everyone looks out for each other.Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer's key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Developing drill prep plans, drill patterns, loading and blast timing designsMonitor and manage blast environmental impacts like vibration, fume and airblastOptimising and improving drill and blast processes by incorporating a reconciliation process to capture learningsMaintain statutory compliance and site safety standardsLiaise with different stakeholders; operations, production engineers and survey to ensure efficient coordination between different processesAct as a role model within the Technical Services team providing mentoring and coaching support to the team as requiredContribute to a culture of continuous improvementSkills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have the below qualities, attributes, and qualifications:Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering or similar technical disciplineA strategic mindsetPossess strong communication,



organisation, and stakeholder management skillsA minimum 3 years' experience in Technical Roles within the Mining IndustryPrevious experience in Drill and BlastHighly developed skills pertaining to mining software packages and engineering practices (Vulcan, Deswik, Blastlogic)Passionate about your work, able to engage with clients and peersA highly motivated, proactive individual with a "can do" attitudeExcellent planning skills to enlist additional help or resources when requiredBenefitsYancoal provides a range of perks to appeal to the diverse needs of our employees.
