Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Reservoir VICFixed-term, full-time opportunity for up to 18 months based in ReservoirContribute to community safety by applying practices that reduce reoffendingSalary range of $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuationCommunity Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending andconnecting individuals to programs,servicesand community.
CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and those on parole.About the role:Senior Parole Officers (SPOs) are responsible for delivering quality case management to a complex caseload of the highest priority individuals on parole - those who have committed serious sex offences or serious violent offences - under correctional supervision.
SPOs will be required to work autonomously and ensure that the management of individuals on parole under their supervision are case managed in line with Victoria's Correctional Practice Framework.Key Responsibilities include:Effectively manage a complex caseload of the highest individuals who are subject to a Parole OrderApply sound professional judgement in the ongoing identification and assessment of individual risk, with a paramount consideration for community safetyInterview, assess, refer and direct prisoners on parole to attend various programs, which may include specialized services,
assessment and treatment programsPrepare and co-ordinate high quality reports to external and internal stakeholders including complex correspondence and briefingsUndertake the installation of and maintenance of electronic monitoring equipment as well as conducting home visitsAbout you:Knowledge of best practice case management frameworks and theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomesDisplays confidence and conviction when communicating an opinion and listens when ideas are challengedAccept changed priorities without undue discomfortHolds self and team accountable towards being inclusive to individuals from diverse backgroundsResolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelinesSees things from another's point of view to confirm understanding, motivations, needs and wants of stakeholdersWhy work with us?
