As Senior Medical Officer, you will have the opportunity to influence not only individualpatient outcomes, but also clinical systems, workforce capability, governance, and organisational strategy.




This role directly supports Galambila's Strategic Plan, helping strengthen access tocare, develop future clinicians, build workforce capability, and improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.About the RoleYou will work closely with the Practice Manager, General Manager Operations, multidisciplinary leaders, and medical workforce to strengthen service delivery and support positive health outcomes for Community.Your Day to Day:Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to General Practitioners and Registrars.Support safe, evidence based and culturally appropriate medical practice.Contribute to clinical governance, accreditation, audit and quality improvement activities.Provide clinical oversight for complex presentations and multidisciplinary care planning.Mentor and develop the next generation of rural and Aboriginal health clinicians.Support organisational strategy, systems improvement and service development initiatives.Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, service integration and clinical efficiency.Champion culturally secure and community-centred healthcare.About YouYou are an experienced medical practitioner who enjoys leading others, building capability, and contributing to broader organisational success.To be successful in this role,



you will have:Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRAFellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (or equivalent specialist General Practice recognition)Accredited GP Supervisor status with RACGP or ACRRM, or willingness to obtain supervisor accreditation (highly desirable)Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, supervision and mentoringStrong understanding of clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement frameworksExperience supporting multidisciplinary and integrated models of careExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsA commitment to culturally safe healthcare and improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesThe ability to balance strategic thinking with practical clinical leadership.Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) or rural and remote health setting will be highly regarded.Why You'll Love Working With UsFlexible working arrangements available.
