Prostate Cancer Specialist role
, providing
leave coverage
for an
11-month maximum term full time
contract.
This is an exciting full-time opportunity, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care and support to patients diagnosed with prostate cancer across the continuum of care. Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation

What you'll be doing
The Prostate Cancer Specialist nurse has exceptional experience in Urology nursing, demonstrating the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team providing support and clinical leadership across Mater Health Brisbane.
Providing specialty-specific support and resources to staff and patients diagnosed with Prostate cancer throughout the continuum of care




Work within the Multidisciplinary Team to ensure consistent patient outcomes between the various streams
Provide high-quality patient care, reliable information and education for patients and their families
Liaise with scheduler/s to ensure appropriate timing procedure/surgery dates of patients who are deemed ready for care
Coordinating care throughout the patient journey ensuring access to services and appropriate follow-up in place
Establishes priorities for resolution of identified health needs in consultation with the patient or group of patients
Acts as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to treatment, assisting/negotiating sensitively with patients where there may be barriers to understanding
About you
To be considered for this role, you will have current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse (no restrictions) and at least 5 years surgical/urological/oncology nursing experience.
High levels of communication skills when liaising with patients, families and staff within professional, legal and ethical parameters
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of optimal patient outcomes
Demonstrated clinical leadership skills
Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated commitment to professional development of yourself and staff members
Ability to contribute to departmental research activities
