The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.
The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.As a Hydraulics Design Engineer, you will design bridge waterways, culverts, deck drain systems, retention/detention basins and channels for trunk highways.
This position provides technical expertise and assistance to MnDOT District Offices, municipalities and county engineers as requested; conducts bridge scour evaluation on recent and existing bridges and design countermeasures.
In addition, the position updates drainage standards and supports hydraulic automation and asset management and will be involved in hydraulic climate resiliency efforts at MnDOT.The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students.
Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.Minimum QualificationsLicensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.




(If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR before starting employment.)
