An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a cross-functional delivery team focused on modernising large-scale data and API capabilities.This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys building high-performance distributed systems, working across up-to-date cloud-native technologies, and contributing to mission-critical platforms with significant national impact.What Youll Be DoingDevelop and deliver high-quality API and data pipeline solutions aligned to approved architecture and engineering best practicesSupport technical release coordination for both internal and external delivery activitiesMonitor, manage, and proactively mitigate risks relating to system performance and API availabilityCollaborate closely with engineers, testers, analysts, and stakeholders within agile delivery teamsContribute to broader platform uplift initiatives and continuous improvement activitiesBuild scalable, resilient applications leveraging both SQL and NoSQL data sourcesKey Skills & ExperienceEssential5+ years' experience in Senior Software Engineering rolesStrong Java development experienceCommercial experience with:Apache SparkKafkaElastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash,
Kibana)Experience designing efficient processing algorithms and optimising application performanceExperience with containerisation and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and RancherExperience with CI/CD and continuous delivery tools such as JenkinsStrong understanding of automated testing frameworksAbility to work collaboratively within cross-functional agile teamsNice to HaveExperience working within large-scale government or enterprise transformation environmentsExposure to highly available API ecosystems and large data processing environmentsSecurity RequirementsCandidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
