Senior Lawyer – Administrative Law/Statutory Interpretation – Baseline ClearanceSenior Lawyer – Administrative Law/Statutory Interpretation – Baseline Clearance – $975 to $**** daily rate including super – Initial secondment to 23 December **** – Canberra Brisbane Melbourne Sydney locations availableThe RoleWe currently have a secondment prospect within a Commonwealth Agency that is seeking a lawyer with administrative law and statutory interpretation experience to work on a variety of legal projects.The ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Commonwealth clients' in-house legal team.




High level stakeholder engagement skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of client areas.The successful candidate will provide a variety of legal advice on subjects including:statutory interpretation of legislation and sub-ordinate instruments;applying administrative law principles to business decisions and advising on process issues;providing advice on program legislation;responding to legal advice requests related to automated decision making and legislative reform; andproviding advice related to Social Security Law, Family Assistance Law and Health Legislation.The RequirementsA current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one) and a current (minimum) Baseline security clearance experience is essential.Previous experience advising on Commonwealth administrative law including on automated decision making, legislative reform (including Social Security Law) would be highly regarded.
