We are seeking an experienced Senior Ocean Import Specialist to join our Sydney team and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers across Australia.This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable ocean freight professional who thrives in a fast paced workplace, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about delivering operational excellence.About the RoleAs a Senior Ocean Import Specialist, you will manage end-to-end ocean import shipments while acting as a subject matter expert within the team.
You will be responsible for ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and with a strong customer focus, while supporting continuous improvement and mentoring less experienced team members.This role requires a strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes, stakeholder management, commercial awareness, and proficiency in CargoWise.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end FCL and LCL ocean import shipmentsCoordinate shipments with overseas offices, carriers, transport providers, customs brokers, and customersMonitor shipment milestones and proactively manage exceptionsProcess shipment registrations and maintain accurate operational records within CargoWiseEnsure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and completed within required timeframesManage customer communications, including shipment updates, delays, customs holds,



and delivery arrangementsReview and approve costing, accruals, and invoicing to ensure financial accuracyDrive high standards of data integrity, operational compliance, and customer serviceSupport the onboarding and implementation of new customersAssist with SOP development, process improvements, and operational best practice initiativesGenerate and analyse KPI reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvementProvide guidance and support to junior team members and contribute to a positive team cultureAbout YouMinimum 5 years' experience in Ocean Import Freight ForwardingStrong working knowledge of international ocean freight operationsDemonstrated experience using CargoWise OneExcellent understanding of shipping line, transport, customs, and supply chain processesStrong customer service and stakeholder management skillsExceptional attention to detail and organisational abilityAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectivelySound commercial awareness with experience in job costing, accruals, and profitability managementStrong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approachA collaborative mindset and willingness to support and mentor othersWhat We OfferA supportive and collaborative team environmentOpportunity to work with a global leader in logistics and freight forwardingExposure to diverse customers and supply chain solutionsA culture built around our values and commitment to excellence
