We have a growing presence in cyber, space and nuclear programs.Tell me about this role:We are seeking multiple experienced Maritime Engineers to support the delivery of critical Defence capability programs within Defence Maritime sustainment programs.These roles sit at the intersection of engineering, acquisition, project delivery, capability introduction, and sustainment.
You will play a key role in ensuring maritime capabilities are engineered, assured, certified, and transitioned into service safely and effectively.
Working closely with Defence stakeholders, project teams, military units, and industry partners, you will provide technical leadership and engineering expertise across the capability lifecycle.These opportunities will contribute to complex Defence projects, influence engineering outcomes, and support the successful introduction and sustainment of next-generation maritime capabilities.We're offering uncapped training and development opportunities as well as other benefits including subsidised parking, flexible working and different leave arrangements including paid parental, study, reserve and volunteer leave.What will I be doing day to day?
Provide engineering and technical advice across a portfolio of maritime capability projectsSupport the acquisition, delivery, introduction into service,



and transition into sustainment of maritime platforms and systemsLead and manage engineering design, engineering change, and configuration management activitiesConduct engineering investigations, assessments, inspections, testing, and evaluation activitiesSupport design acceptance, engineering certification, and technical acceptance processesDevelop and review engineering plans, technical reports, safety cases, certification documentation, and engineering recommendationsAssess capability readiness and support transition and introduction into service activitiesManage technical risks and provide practical engineering solutions to complex problemsWork collaboratively with Defence stakeholders, project managers, military units, logistics specialists, and industry partnersParticipate in technical reviews, governance forums, acceptance testing, and engineering assurance activitiesEnsure engineering outcomes comply with Defence standards, regulations, and technical governance requirementsContribute to capability enhancements, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiativesWhat sort of skills do I need?
Degree qualification in EngineeringChartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification through Engineers AustraliaMinimum 8+ years' Maritime Engineering experience supporting Defence acquisition, delivery, introduction into service, and sustainment programsStrong Engineering Design experience within maritime, naval, amphibious, or military platform environmentsDemonstrated experience supporting Defence acquisition and capability delivery programsProven experience supporting capability introduction into service (IIS)



and transition into sustainmentExperience acting as a Design Acceptance Authority (DAA), Design Acceptance Representative (DAR), Engineering Delegate, Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, or equivalent delegated engineering authorityStrong understanding of engineering assurance, technical governance, certification, and acceptance processesExperience managing engineering change, configuration management, and technical risk activitiesAbility to develop and review technical documentation, engineering artefacts, safety cases, and engineering reportsExperience working with Defence stakeholders including CASG, SPOs, Navy, Army, Defence Primes, or Defence industry organisationsCurrent Australian Government Security Clearance (Baseline, NV1 or NV2)What's in it for me?
